The father of Amir Mohammad Khaleghi, a young student who was in front of the dormitory of a student victim of a deadly robbery, temporarily forgave his son's murderer at the moment of the execution of the sentence on the condition that he preserves some parts of the Koran. The recommendations that were raised during the implementation of the verdict on issues such as memorizing the Quran, were only moral and instructive and were not considered as a legal or definitive condition for forgiveness.
Rejecting the rumors about the extension of the retribution deadline, he added: None of the news about the extension of the deadline until the fulfillment of issues such as complete memorization of the Quran are true. According to the law, the parents have given a two-month deadline, and after the end of this deadline, their legal right to execute the retribution order is still reserved.
This lawyer continued: From the very beginning, the Correctional Center, its management and its support unit have been continuously and actively following up on the issue, and it was not the case that the measures were stopped after the deadline was announced. A group of people are trying to make a decision based on goodness and expediency if possible.
Criticizing some media atmospheres, Haji Esfandiari said: “Unfortunately, the media pressure and the spread of false news have inflamed the decision-making environment for the family of the parents of the deceased.” The rush to determine the execution date or to induce certainty in the suspension of the sentence is neither logical nor ethical. Any necessary decision will be notified in due time and officially.
He added: Some media have recorded, edited and published interviews without the family's knowledge and consent, which resulted in wrong perceptions of public opinion and disturbing the peace of Amir Mohammad Khaleghi's family.
Emphasizing that no guarantee has been given to stop the execution of the verdict, the lawyer of the parents of Dem stated: Part of the matters of concern to the parents of Dem is to ascertain the true remorse of the convict, which is being investigated in cooperation with the correctional center. Finally, the decision-maker is only the family of the deceased, and I will act only within the framework of my clients' wishes and opinions.
He pointed out: For the sake of expediency and in order to keep the peace of the family, it was decided to pursue the issue quietly and calmly until the preparations are made and assurances are made; But the publication of a false interview, unfortunately, disturbed this peace.
It should be noted that Amir Mohammad Khaleghi, a student of the undergraduate course in business management at Tehran University, was assaulted by two motorcycle-riding robbers with a cold weapon on the evening of 24th of Bahman 1403 in the area of Geisha Bridge while visiting the university's Koi dormitory, and despite being taken to Shariati Hospital, he died on the morning of Thursday 25th of Bahman due to the severity of his injuries.
The head of the Criminal Prosecutor's Office of Tehran gave an explanation regarding the suspension of the execution of the sentence of retribution for the murderer of Amir Mohammad Khalaghi.

The meeting usually starts with the recitation of the Koran by one of the prison personnel, but I thought that Amir Mohammad's father should read because he was a Sunni cleric. How pleasant it was, I enjoyed it very much. His choice of verses was excellent, and he had a pleasant tone.
From the text of the recitation, I was sure that he will not retaliate. The hanged man said that he should be careful and memorize two parts of the Quran and that his family should help to build a charity so that he can decide later and I was very envious of his character and behavior. He gave many lessons to everyone. The killer accepted with prayers and tears. “

It was on the evening of 24th of Bahman last year that Amir Mohammad Khaleghi, an elite management student of Tehran University, was near the university dormitory when he was targeted by two motorcycle-riding robbers to steal his mobile phone.
When Amir Mohammad Khaleghi confronted the robbers, he confronted the merciless robbers, but the robbers pinned him to the ground with a knife in his hand, and one of the robbers, by stabbing him, was able to steal the postal code and mobile phone of an elite student of Tehran University and fled the robbery scene on his accomplice's motorcycle.
Amir Mohammad Khaleghi chased them to the main street while being stabbed, but he was unable to walk anymore and fell to the ground.
The student of Tehran University was taken to Shariati Hospital by the witnesses of the incident, but the doctors' efforts to save his life were unsuccessful and this young student succumbed to death on the hospital bed.
Identifying the perpetrators of the murder of Amir Mohammad Khaleghi
Very soon, a team of detectives from the 10th Department of the Tehran Intelligence Police went into action to identify the perpetrators of the brutal murder of the young student, and in the first step, they reviewed the CCTV footage near the scene of the crime.
The police investigation continued until one of the wanted thieves called the police and claimed that one of his friends named Ahmed called him and claimed that he killed a student boy for stealing his backpack.
In the next step, police investigations were carried out on Ahmed and his accomplice, whose name is Amir, and it was found that Ahmed was planning to visit one of his friends in the hospital. In this case, the young thief was arrested at the hospital on the evening of Monday, 29th of February, and his accomplice was also arrested in his hiding place very soon before he was informed of Ahmed's arrest.
The court of the perpetrators of the murder of Amir Mohammad Khani
On the 26th of March of last year, the hearing of the murder case of Amir Mohammad Khani was held in the criminal court of a province of Tehran, and the first-tier accused stated that his motive for the crime was financial need, and before committing the robbery and the recent murder, he committed 30 to 40 other robberies, and his motive was only robbery. The accused in the second row also declared their motive to gain property through theft.
The prosecutor's representative said: The parents of the victim are demanding legal punishment and retribution. The charge of the first-tier accused is based on being in charge of intentional murder and participation in armed robbery at night, and the accusation of the second-tier defendant is based on accessory to intentional murder and participation in armed robbery at night, and according to the demand for retribution from the parents, the demand for retribution and severe legal punishment is requested.
The accused Ahmed stood in the first row behind the podium and said in his confession: “A few years ago, I was sent to the correctional center for theft, and it was agreed that I would definitely pay the money I lost.” I worked as an apprentice in a refinery, but with my salary I could not pay my debt and sometimes I stole with my friends to pay the debt of the plaintiffs in my previous case. On the day of the incident, my friend Amir and I went to one of our mutual friends and took a knife from him and tried to steal the phone. I pulled out the knife to scare him, and we got into a fight, and my friend told him to hit him, and I hit him twice with the knife, took his phone and bag, and ran away. Believe me, we only went to steal and I did not intend to kill him. If he didn't resist that day, it wouldn't have happened.”
Next, Amir, the second-ranked accused, went to the stand and said: I accept the charge of robbery, but I do not accept the charge of accessory to murder, because I was only a motorcycle rider and had no involvement in the stabbing and murder. There was no murder at all.
At the end of the meeting, the judges entered the city to issue a verdict and issued a sentence of retribution for the main perpetrator of this crime.
The sentence of retribution was approved after a few months, and the case was referred to the execution of sentences for issuing the final sentence, and Ahmad was placed on the list of those to be executed.
According to this report, Ahmed the killer of Amir Mohammad Khaleghi will be hanged tomorrow morning – Wednesday, 24 Mehr 1404 – to execute the sentence of revenge in Rajaei Shahr prison.
